I liked your apt description of the writing process (which could also apply to creative non-fiction):  &quot;fiction is a kind of alchemy, a mix of science and magic, fact and poetry.&quot;  Interesting what you wrote about Chomsky--he&#039;s well-known here in academic circles and on the left-but is almost never mentioned by the mainstream media.  I bought a copy of Another City (couldn&#039;t resist the Philadelphia connections!) and am enjoying it.</description>
